#Join the Brainchild Team

We are currently accepting applications from students in good academic standing in the Honors College at Kent State University to work on our Brainchild magazine team for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Participation in Brainchild is expected to be a yearlong commitment that begins in the fall semester. Students will be registered for HONR 30297 and earn Honors credit hours each semester for their involvement with Brainchild. Team members are required to attend bi-weekly staff meetings and, occasionally, specific section meetings.

##Position Descriptions

###Editing

Editors are responsible for the selection and editing of poetry, prose, fine art and photography pieces that are published in the magazine. They handle the initial screening of these pieces before final selections are made, and they work to edit and revise the potential pieces for publication. In addition, they work to structure the layout of the magazine. We also recommend that you attach a writing or art sample with your application.

###Design
The design team is in charge of the overall production and design of Brainchild as well as providing print and digital advertisements for the magazine. Designers will create marketing materials such posters, postcards and website banners in conjunction with the marketing team. They will also assist in designing the overall layout and work with the rest of the staff to produce the magazine. ###Marketing & Communications

The Marketing and Communications team will develop, implement and oversee a marketing and communications strategy aimed at increasing the awareness, recognition and overall brand of Brainchild. The primary responsibilities of the marketing and communications team are to encourage submissions and increase readership through various platforms (social media, email marketing, press releases, web, etc.).
